Fran Wilde Returns to the Gem Universe in Two New Novellas with Tor.com Publishing!

We’re delighted to announce that we have signed the incomparable Fran Wilde to write two novella sequels to her 2017 Hugo-nominated novelette, The Jewel and Her Lapidary!

The Fire Opal Mechanism and The Book of Gems are set in the same world as The Jewel and Her Lapidary (Tor.com Publishing, 2016) and the short story “The Topaz Marquise” (Beneath Ceaseless Skies). The Fire Opal Mechanism will be published in 2018.

The novellas were acquired by senior editor, Lee Harris from Barry Goldblatt of Barry Goldblatt Literary LLC.

More Murderbot Adventures from Martha Wells

In October of last year we announced that we’d acquired two books in Martha Wells’ new Murderbot Diaries series, and the first (All Systems Red) was published last month. It has already proven extremely popular, and it’s such a fun read that when Martha’s agent contacted us to ask if we’d like any more we jumped at the chance! Martha said:
